Disappointed
I just can't win for losing as a Chiefs fan. I got all excited because we got rid of our worst role model, Larry Johnson (have fun in Cincy, buddy. Ocho Cinco is going to eat Mr. Dos Uno for lunch!). We even managed to win a game in celebration of the weight loss.
Then what happens? My favorite guy, Dwayne Bowe, gets suspended for four games for Performance Enhancing Drugs. Grrrrrr!! I don't like it. It's not like I think the NFL is clean at all, nor do I think my boys in KC are any exception. I just don't like having to face it when my favorite thing about rooting for this team is that they generally keep their noses clean. Not only is this a fresh blemish on our reputation, but we lose a star player for four games, so I don't expect us to pull out another win anytime soon. But the reputation is more important to me than the suspension, which he deserves for violating League policy. Of course, that's easy for me to say when we're not exactly shooting for the playoffs at this point. What's four more losses now, right?
I won't give up on my boy D-Bowe. But I will be giving him very stern looks over the top of my glasses (from my couch) while he rides the bench for a month. Then he'd better have some pretty impressive performance to show for his poor choice!
